How to use PolyCat

Everything you need to go from zero to automatically copying top Polymarket traders.

Before you start — what you need

  • A Polymarket account that you legally hold and use. Polymarket is unavailable in some jurisdictions (including the US and France) — you are responsible for making sure prediction-market trading is legal where you live. PolyCat does not help bypass any restrictions.
  • A funded account — crypto in your Polymarket balance. PolyCat can only place bets with money you already have there; it can never deposit or withdraw for you.
  • The MetaMask wallet you used to create your Polymarket account (you'll need its private key for the connection step).
  • An active PolyCat plan — Starter, Basic or Pro (see plans).
⚠️
Place one bet yourself before connecting
The very first time you trade on Polymarket, MetaMask asks you to approve the exchange contracts — a one-time signature that allows any order to move your funds. PolyCat cannot do this for you, and until it's done every copied bet will fail.
Go to polymarket.com → place any small bet → approve the MetaMask signature. That's it — you only ever do this once.
STEP 1

Connect your Polymarket account

On the Connect page, PolyCat asks for two things — and they are different addresses, which is the #1 source of setup mistakes:
  • MetaMask private key — MetaMask → account menu (⋮) → Account details → Show private key. This is the key that signs your orders.
  • Polymarket wallet address — go to polymarket.com, open your profile, and copy the address shown there. This is where your funds live. It is not your MetaMask address.
Your private key is encrypted with AWS Key Management Service the moment you save it, and is only ever used to sign bets — PolyCat cannot withdraw or move your funds. Tip: use a dedicated wallet holding only the money you want to trade with. You can disconnect and wipe your credentials at any time.
STEP 2

Pick traders to copy

Two ways to find traders:
  • The Leaderboard — top Polymarket wallets ranked by performance. Click Copy on any of them.
  • Any wallet address — if you follow a trader on X or found one on Polymarket, paste their 0x address directly via Dashboard → + Add.
What to look for: consistent profit over time (not one lucky win), a trade size and frequency you're comfortable mirroring, and markets you understand. Past performance never guarantees future results — a profitable trader can start losing the day you copy them.
STEP 3

Configure your copy settings

For each trader you copy, you control:
  • Bet amount per trade — a fixed amount (preset or custom) placed each time they bet, regardless of how much they bet. Minimum $1 (Polymarket's own market minimums can occasionally be higher).
  • Max daily spend — a hard cap on total copying per day for that trader. Strongly recommended, especially for active traders.
  • Categories — copy everything, or only e.g. Sports and Crypto. Bets outside your chosen categories are skipped.
You can pause or remove any copied trader at any time from the Dashboard — pausing stops new copies instantly but doesn't affect bets already placed.
STEP 4

What happens once you're live

PolyCat watches your chosen wallets around the clock. When a tracked trader places a bet:
  • The trade is typically detected within about 30 seconds.
  • Your limits are checked (plan, daily cap, category), then a matching order is placed from your account at the current market price — which can differ slightly from the trader's price.
  • Every copied bet appears in Trade History. For final outcomes, check your Polymarket account — it always has the authoritative results.
A copy can occasionally fail — most commonly because your Polymarket balance is too low, the market's minimum order size isn't met, or you haven't yet placed that first manual bet to approve trading. Keep your balance topped up if you want every trade mirrored.

Plans and billing

Starter (€14.99/mo): 1 copied wallet, 25 bets/day. Basic (€24.99/mo): up to 5 wallets, 100 bets/day, category filters and full leaderboard. Pro (€49.99/mo): unlimited wallets and bets, Pro Picks, the daily top-trader card and priority support. Yearly billing saves two months on every plan. Manage, switch, or cancel anytime in Settings → Subscription — cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

FAQ

Is my private key safe?
It's encrypted with AWS KMS — the encryption key lives in AWS's hardware and can't be extracted, and every decryption is logged. Your key is used only to sign bets. Still, best practice: dedicated wallet, only trading funds.

Can PolyCat withdraw my money?
No. PolyCat's engine only ever calls Polymarket's order API. Depositing and withdrawing stays entirely in your hands on polymarket.com.

Nothing is being copied — what's wrong?
If you've never placed a bet on Polymarket yourself, the exchange contracts aren't approved for your wallet yet and every order will fail. Place one small bet manually on polymarket.com, approve the MetaMask signature, and copying will start working. Other common causes: no active plan, your wallets toggled off, or the trader simply hasn't traded recently.

Why did a bet fail?
Usually: insufficient balance, the market's minimum order size, the missing first-bet approval above, or the market closing between detection and execution. Failed copies never charge you anything and don't count toward your daily limit.

How do I stop everything immediately?
Dashboard → toggle each wallet off (instant), or Connect page → Disconnect wallet to wipe your credentials entirely.

Which countries can use PolyCat?
PolyCat is a tool for existing, legal Polymarket users. If you can legally use Polymarket where you live, you can use PolyCat. We don't provide legal advice on your jurisdiction — when in doubt, check local rules before trading.
